Virtual Therapy

At Root To Rise Therapy we are committed to providing access to individual counseling, couples counseling, and marriage therapy in Los Angeles. One way that we do this is by offering HIPAA-compliant Virtual Therapy services to clients located in Los Angeles and state-wide in California. We offer both phone and video sessions, giving both clients and our therapists the flexibility to make therapy work wherever and however we can!

We believe in increasing access to services and with Virtual Therapy, we are able to provide services to those who prefer remote therapy and/or for whatever reason cannot attend in-person sessions.

One of the most exciting benefits of Virtual Therapy is that if you live in anywhere in California, you can quality for these services with our therapists! From Sacramento, to the Bay area, San Francisco, San Jose, San Louis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Orange County, Long Beach, and so forth, we have got you covered!

We offer the flexibility of either phone OR video sessions and due to the flexibility of Virtual Therapy, we can open up our availability depending on your needs.

Ways you could benefit from Virtual Therapy:

  • You have a long commute, work long hours and would like the flexibility to see a therapist from home or from your work office

  • You live in a different part of California and you really want to work with us

  • You live in Los Angeles County but you are far from our offices like in Downtown LA, East Los Angeles, the valley, etc and you really want to work with us but you live too far away to drive out weekly (we can even work out a schedule where you split between in-person and Virtual Therapy visits)

  • You are a caretaker of children or dependents at home and cannot get away for a session

  • You travel often for work and its hard to find one regular weekly session time to come to therapy

 

Ways to make Virtual Therapy work in Los Angeles

  • Use your home office for your video or phone session and use earbuds for extra privacy

  • Throw on your walking shoes, pop in your earbuds, and go for nice long walk on your phone session. This is a double whammy benefit- exercise + therapy at the same time!

  • Hop in the car and go for a nice drive, park somewhere with a nice view

  • Do your phone or video session from somewhere in nature that you love

  • Strike a deal with your partner that if they cover childcare for your 50 minute session, you promise to cover childcare while they do a workout/activity of their choice.

Will Virtual Therapy be as effective as in-person therapy?

  • On video and phone sessions, we can do regular talk therapy, breathing and relaxation exercises, guided meditations, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, emotion regulation, couples therapy, and more.

  • We find that clients are able to relax and feel really comfortable with video and phone sessions.

  • Video sessions can be used for couples therapy! We’ve been really impressed with the power of both couples & individual video and phone sessions and we would encourage anyone who is curious give it a try.

  • Video and phone sessions can feel different from in-person sessions. While it’s understandable to have concerns about virtual therapy (Will we feel connected? Will it carry the same weight as in-person visits?), we have had extremely powerful video and phone sessions with our clients.

  • Virtual Therapy can bring up new perspectives and experiences, and lead to new insights. We always welcome questions and feedback.
